24 Years, 24 Life Lessons

I turned 24 years old yesterday so I thought I’d do something a bit different and share with you 24 life lessons that I have learnt so far.

  1. It does not matter what other people think of you.
  2. You cannot be liked by everyone.
  3. Good people do bad things.
  4. The friends you have will change constantly. And that’s actually pretty cool.
  5. Watching cute videos of animals on YouTube will always make you feel better.
  6. It’s never too late to make a change or to learn something new.
  7. Self destruction is never the solution.
  8. Never be afraid to ask for help.
  9. Help others whenever you can.
  10. Use your time wisely.
  11. Travel as much as you can.
  12. Learn to be comfortable with your own company.
  13. Good communication can help a lot of things. Talk.
  14. There is no such thing as a silly question. Be curious.
  15. Stop apologising when it is not necessary.
  16. You do not have to spend time with anyone who makes you unhappy.
  17. Your mental health should be a priority.
  18. Consume art critically. It’s okay to enjoy something ‘problematic’ but be aware of it.
  19. There’s a reason why people tell you to eat fruit and vegetables. Do it.
  20. Stop assigning ‘good’ and ‘bad’ labels to food.
  21. Internalised misogyny is real, positive relationships with women are possible and amazing.
  22. Quit comparing your life to others’.
  23. Trust people until they give you a reason not to.
  24. Take each moment as it comes.

So there you have it, I might add to this each year if I’m still blogging. What lessons has life taught you so far?
